    water filter
  • a filter to remove impurities from the water supply

  • A water filter removes impurities from water by means of a fine physical barrier, a chemical process or a biological process. Filters cleanse water to various extents for irrigation, drinking water, aquariums, and swimming pools.

  • (Water Filters) A water filter is required to remove parasite contamination in big city municipal water supplies, and growing concerns about well water contamination in rural areas. It does away with the inconvenience and expense of purchasing bottled water.

    glass
  • A thing made from, or partly from, glass, in particular

  • a brittle transparent solid with irregular atomic structure

  • furnish with glass; "glass the windows"

  • a container for holding liquids while drinking

  • A hard, brittle substance, typically transparent or translucent, made by fusing sand with soda, lime, and sometimes other ingredients and cooling rapidly. It is used to make windows, drinking containers, and other articles

  • Any similar substance that has solidified from a molten state without crystallizing

    jug
  • imprison: lock up or confine, in or as in a jail; "The suspects were imprisoned without trial"; "the murderer was incarcerated for the rest of his life"

  • stew in an earthenware jug; "jug the rabbit"

  • Stew or boil (a hare or rabbit) in a covered container

  • Prosecute and imprison (someone)

  • a large bottle with a narrow mouth

Day 7

Day 7

A grand haul today as I was on my own, free to 'potter' and find bits here and there.

From top left:

1. 2 bottles of out of date sparkling water. One was 2001 the other 2003 and they had both lost their fizz. Going to put the water in the water butt and recycle the bottles.

2. Birthday card book, the type you put birthday cards in under the appropriate months so you don't forget. Personally it's not big enough for me so I might as well lose it. Going to a Freegler.

3. Another china milk jug - we don't use these and have got a glass one if we ever did. In the Oxfam bag.

4. A load of glass pebbles from a vase. I've had these for a few years now so it's time to lose them. Offered on Freegle, no takers yet. If no one wants them I'll put them in the Oxfam bag.

5. 2 tubs of tea. One is green tea, the other vanilla flavoured Earl Grey, both out of date and both of which I don't like. Put the teabags in the compost bin and recycled the containers.

6. Long plastic box with handle. From my crafting - have downsized so don't need this any more. It's got a crack and split in it anyway, so I'll fill it with more craft stuff and offer it on Freegle.

7. An empty box I was keeping in case it was useful. Gone in the recycling bag.

8. A porcelain dish with lid. Very pretty but totally useless to me. Put in the charity bag.

9. Some fruit that is past its best. The lemon and limes I bought before Christmas so they're really hard now, also the kiwi fruit are wrinkled and the satsumas have shrunk in the skins, so dried out. I put these in the compost bin.

10. Some old parish magazines. We only keep the last 2 so these are older than that. In the recycling bag.

11. A purple knitted top. I will never wear it, it's been on Ebay with no takers, so I gave it to my daughter.

12. Serviettes. I must be realistic, we just don't use these, so I don't know why I keep on buying them!. If we need something like that we use kitchen towel. Going in the charity bag.

13. A used water filter cartridge. I took this out of the water filter and it's full of scale. I have seen a recycling facilty somewhere for them so it will go in that when I remember where it was!

14. 2 plastic wallets from when I joined Slimming World. I will put these in the recycling bag.
